Why did you choose to attend Tulane?
I chose to attend Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine because of its strong academic and research opportunities, particularly in the field of epidemiology. Tulane is consistently ranked among the top public health schools in the country, and I was drawn to its reputation for academic excellence and innovation in public health practice. Additionally, the school’s commitment to diversity and its vibrant, inclusive community were important factors for me. Being part of such a diverse environment enhances learning and prepares me to work effectively in varied public health settings.
Why are you interested in volunteering as a student ambassador?
As a Student Ambassador, I would love the opportunity to connect with prospective students and help make their transition to Tulane WSPH as smooth and welcoming as possible. As an international student myself, I understand the challenges that come with adjusting to a new academic and cultural environment. I hope to use my own experiences to guide and support others, answer their questions, and help them feel more confident and prepared as they begin their journey in public health.
What's your dream job?
My dream job is to work in chronic disease prevention research, with the goal of improving the quality of life for individuals and communities. I am particularly passionate about addressing long-term health disparities and promoting evidence-based interventions. I’m also interested in clinical research, especially studies that explore lifestyle factors and health outcomes. Ultimately, I hope to contribute to a healthier future by translating research into actionable strategies for prevention and care.
What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?
Public health is a hands-on, skill-based program that lets you explore a lot of different research areas. If you’re interested in working with communities and making a real difference in people’s lives, this is definitely the way to go. It’s a great field if you want to help improve health on a bigger scale.
Any hobbies, interests, etc. outside of public health?
I love cooking South Indian food, jamming out to music, and checking out new places.
