Why did you choose to attend Tulane?
I chose Tulane's Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine because it's not only one of the best-ranked programs in the country, but it also offers amazing scholarship opportunities that made this journey possible for me. Being able to study here gives me a real chance to serve my home state and make a positive impact where it matters most. Plus, New Orleans' unique history and culture present so many exciting opportunities for innovative public health initiatives, which makes Tulane the perfect place to learn and contribute. It feels like the ideal environment to grow both personally and professionally while staying connected to my roots.
What's your dream job?
I would love to work in food security work through an agricultural lens, equipping and educating smallholder farmers to increase production and empower their communities in lower and middle income nations.
What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?
Public health is about the relationships you make, so start reflecting on where you want to make the biggest impact, and find a university that can help you do that.
Any hobbies, interests, etc. outside of public health?
I love going on walks to look at the beautiful New Orleans architecture, trying out new coffee shops, and cooking for my friends!
What is the best thing about being a student at Tulane thus far?
I love taking classes that I know will directly relate to my future in public health, like design strategies and social and behavioral aspects of public health. Courses like these equip me with the knowledge to work and succeed in public health, and it makes me so excited to get further into my program!
