Why did you choose to attend Tulane?
There are many reasons why I chose to attend Tulane WSPH.
- One of the main reasons was meeting LeShawn Simplis-Barnes at an admissions event in DC where she truly convinced me to apply.
- The Sustainable Development focus caught my eyes because of how many interventions that mean well are not lasting and actually do more harm than good to communities.
- The school's ranking/ being the first public health institution in the country.
- Wanting to explore New Orleans, both from a historical and cultural aspect, but also the public health aspect.
Why are you interested in volunteering as a student ambassador?
I did a lot of admission work in undergrad, and I really love the aspect of sharing an institution that I love to prospective students.
What's your dream job?
While I am still discovering what my dream job in public health may look like, I hope it will allow me to combine my passions for migration and refugee health, and the impacts of climate change in a way that enables me to influence policy.
What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?
Public health is so versatile that you can find your niche in anything. Follow your passions, volunteer, and ask questions.
Any hobbies, interests, etc. outside of public health?
Playing Ultimate Frisbee, Hiking, Crocheting, and Reading
