The Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (WSPH) and the Tulane University School of Medicine (SOM) are pleased to announce that the Tulane WSPH–SOM Collaborative Research Seed Awards program is now accepting proposals. This joint initiative is designed to catalyze interdisciplinary research partnerships that bridge clinical, biomedical, and population health science, positioning Tulane investigators to compete for external funding.
Awards of up to $100,000 will support joint projects between WSPH and SOM faculty over a 12-month period. Each proposal must include at least one primary faculty investigator from each school, with co-leadership reflected in both project design and execution. While the WSPH–SOM partnership is required, investigators are highly encouraged to engage faculty from other schools and units where appropriate. This program is intended to serve as a vehicle for building multidisciplinary collaborations across the Tulane campus.
Priority research areas include cancer, infectious diseases, cardiovascular disease, aging, artificial intelligence in health, health disparities, housing insecurity, Gulf South health challenges, and disaster response. All compelling proposals at the intersection of medicine and public health will be considered.
Key dates:
- Application deadline: October 31, 2026 (11:59 PM CDT)
