Why did you choose to attend Tulane?

I chose Tulane because of its strong commitment to equity and community engagement, especially in a city as vibrant and complex as New Orleans. The opportunity to study public health in a place with such rich cultural diversity and pressing health challenges felt like the perfect environment to grow both academically and personally. I also deeply value Tulane's international network of faculty, alumni, and partners, which I know will help me connect with global organizations doing impactful work in health equity and community empowerment. Tulane's interdisciplinary approach and emphasis on real-world impact made it an ideal fit for my goals.

What's your dream job?

After graduation, I hope to manage programs at a nonprofit that strengthens the health of families and communities. I'm passionate about creating systems that support long-term well-being, especially for underserved populations. Eventually, I'd love to become a program director, where I can lead initiatives, mentor others, and help shape strategies that make a meaningful impact. I’m drawn to roles that combine community engagement and advocacy.

What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?

Public health is incredibly broad, which can be both exciting and overwhelming at times. My advice is to stay curious and open to exploring different areas because you might be surprised by what resonates with you. Build relationships, ask questions, and seek out opportunities that align with your values. Your perspective matters, and there's room for everyone in this field.

Any hobbies, interests, etc. outside of public health?

I love traveling with my fiancé, learning Spanish, visiting cultural museums, and exploring my new city!

What is the best thing about being a student at Tulane thus far?

The best part so far has been the people! I really enjoy meeting other students and interacting with faculty who all have different backgrounds. Everyone has been so welcoming and genuinely invested in helping each other succeed. I'm inspired to be surrounded by such a diverse community of people passionate about making a difference.
