Why did you choose to attend Tulane?
During my undergraduate experience at Tulane, I gained early exposure to Tulane WSPH. Many of the faculty were my professors, and through their mentorship, I saw firsthand their dedication to students and commitment to public health. As I considered where to pursue my MHA, I wanted a program where public health remained an integral part of my education, and I knew that Tulane would continue to provide that foundation.
Why are you interested in volunteering as a student ambassador?
I am interested in volunteering as a WSPH Student Ambassador because I am always seeking meaningful ways to engage with the Tulane community. I value the opportunity to connect with prospective students and share an authentic student perspective on WSPH programs. Having completed my undergraduate education at Tulane, I bring a unique perspective and a strong understanding of the university, allowing me to offer thoughtful guidance on both academic life and everything New Orleans has to offer.
What's your dream job?
My long-term goal is to serve as the CEO of a successful health system that prioritizes patients while embedding equitable, high-quality care as a core organizational value. I aim to integrate my public health background into both the hospital's mission and my leadership approach. As the healthcare industry continues to innovate, I hope to be an active leader in advancing systems that value not only the patient experience but also supporting the healthcare workforce.
What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?
I would encourage anyone considering a degree in public health to understand that while the field is challenging, especially in today’s climate, the work is essential to protecting and improving population health. Public health requires adaptability, persistence, and collaboration, but it is precisely these challenges that make the work meaningful and exciting.
Any hobbies, interests, etc. outside of public health?
Cooking, yoga, trying new restaurants, and exploring New Orleans
What is the best thing about being a student at Tulane thus far?
The best thing about being a student at WSPH is the incredible support from the faculty. I have always felt confident that there is someone available to guide me throughout this experience, and the faculty truly care about being part of each student’s journey.
