Why did you choose to attend Tulane SPHTM?

Tulane SPHTM was the first public health school in the U.S. and has been a leader in the field of public health for over 100 years! I knew that the SPHTM would provide me with the knowledge and skills needed to best serve in my career in environmental health and safety.

Why are you interested in volunteering as an SPHTM Student Ambassador?

I want to help prospective students realize the amazing work they can do through Tulane SPHTM.

What's your dream job?

My dream job is to be a lead investigator with the U.S. Chemical Safety Board.

What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?

Get involved and get to know your community! Joining public health organizations is a great way to network, learn which public health fields interest you, and stay abreast of emerging research and threats. Volunteering your time to public and community health initiatives is also invaluable. Volunteering provides an opportunity to serve your community and build the skill set required to interact with diverse people.

Any hobbies, interests, etc. outside of public health?

I enjoy reading, sketching, and spending time outside when I'm not at risk of being whisked away by mosquitos. I'm currently learning how to crochet.

What is the best thing about being a student at SPHTM thus far?

Being a part of Tulane's ground-breaking and history-making public health work! The amazing Tulane community is also easily one of my favorite parts of SPHTM.
