Why did you choose to attend Tulane?
Aspiring to become a leader in public health, I was excited to apply for the Community Health Science Online Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Tulane's distinction as the oldest public health school in the United States initially captured my interest, and my confidence in this choice grew even more after conversations with current students and alumni.
What's your dream job?
My dream job in public health is to use storytelling and digital media to create impactful health campaigns that educate and inspire behavior change. I'm also open-minded and eager to explore opportunities in education, hospital advocacy, or other settings, combining my biology background and creative skills. I'm particularly interested in research areas like Lyme disease and endometriosis and passionate about supporting purpose-driven public health initiatives.
What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?
I would tell them to take their time exploring what public health truly means to them. Finding your own passion within public health, whether it is policy, research, communication, or community work, will help you make the most meaningful and fulfilling contribution.
Any hobbies, interests, etc. outside of public health?
My hobbies include crafting activities such as scrapbooking, painting, photography, and video editing. I enjoy cooking and hosting gatherings for friends and family. Additionally, I like to stay active by playing pickleball, hiking, or taking scenic walks.
What is the best thing about being a student at Tulane thus far?
The best thing about being a student at WSPH so far is learning from amazing professors who are not only experts in their fields but also genuinely invested in our success. I've also really appreciated the collaborative group work opportunities, which allow me to connect with classmates, learn from diverse perspectives, and build teamwork skills that are essential in public health.
