Why did you choose to attend Tulane SPHTM?

Tulane University stands proudly as a top research institution and the first public health university in the United States, offering a wealth of opportunities for students like myself. Its joint research programs with Ethiopian universities on infectious disease and outbreaks exemplify Tulane's dedication to international collaboration and tackle global health issues. The combination of these and more factors have played a significant role in attracting me to study at Tulane, as it promises an enriching academic environment and the opportunity to make a contribution to my society.

Why are you interested in volunteering as an SPHTM Student Ambassador?

I aspired to become an ambassador because, as an international student, I understand the difficulties of relocating to a different country and city. However, finding solace in the fact that there are individuals who have walked the same path and experienced similar circumstances can bring a sense of comfort. This is why I desired to be an ambassador- to provide reassurance and support to new international students as they embark on their exciting but unfamiliar journey in a foreign land.

What's your dream job?

I desire to work at the CDC, where I can participate in clinical trial research and vaccine studies. It would be fulfilling to collaborate with experienced researchers in the tropical medicine field and gain valuable knowledge through hand-on fieldwork.

What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?

Public Health is an incredibly diverse field with a multitude of sub divisions that offer students the chance to specialize and excel in their areas of interest. Additionally, it is worth considering how advancing in the field of public health can enhance your career prospects.

Any hobbies, interests, etc. outside of public health?

I enjoy exploring diverse cuisines from different cultures.

What is the best thing about being a student at SPHTM thus far?

One of the greatest things about our school is the opportunity to meet and interact with individuals from all over the world and learn about their diverse culture and rich histories.
