Biography
Dr. Richard Priore is an associate professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at Tulane University's Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He teaches master’s and doctoral-level courses in healthcare financial management and managerial economics.
Rich’s leadership experience spans over 30 years across the investor-owned, not-forprofit, and public healthcare sectors. He has served as COO and CEO for several investorowned hospitals and as a managing director and hospital turnaround expert for a national consulting group. His senior executive leadership roles have included service within academic health systems, specialty hospitals, clinical service lines, and large multispecialty physician group practices.
A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and board-certified in healthcare management, Rich is deeply committed to advancing healthcare leadership development.
He is a U.S. Army veteran, with tours of duty in Europe, East Asia, and Washington, D.C., where he served at the White House under two administrations. Rich is a nationally registered emergency medical technician (NREMT) and a volunteer first responder with the National Ski Patrol.
