Biography

Stephanie Dopson has worked with state and local public health departments on public emergency preparedness and response since the 2001 Anthrax attacks in New York and New Jersey. In 2002 she began working in the Office for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response, and in 2008 moved to the Influenza Coordination Unit where she was a Lead Public Health Analyst. In 2016 she returned to the Office of Preparedness and Response where she is a Senior Advisor in the Applied Science and Evaluation Branch. She has led qualitative and quantitative evaluations, most recently on pandemic influenza and domestic and cross-border preparedness, and is skilled in translating and communicating research into implementation. Stephanie has worked in numerous emergency responses on health communication and science teams including the Anthrax attacks, Hurricane Katrina, H1N1, Haiti Cholera, Haiti Earthquake, Polio Eradication, MERS, H7N9, and Ebola. She is also a deputy editor for the journal Health Promotion Practice, and a member of the CDC Institutional Review Committee B. Stephanie received her ScD, MSW, and MPH at Tulane University.
