The graduate certificate in disaster management prepares professionals in disaster preparedness, response, and management. The graduate certificate is a non-degree program that provides skills in working within the management structure and operational models unique to disasters including; crisis communication, population issues, and psychosocial aspects of disasters. It is offered both online and in person.
Eligibility
This certificate is available for public health professionals with an undergraduate degree and professional experience in disaster management. Professionals who complete the certificate and want to continue for the MPH in Disaster Management will be able to apply the credits from the certificate to the degree.
This certificate program is also available for current MPH/MSPH/MPH&TM/MHA students who are not pursuing a Master of Public Health in Disaster Management. Only 3 credit hours can be shared between the certificate and degree program. Therefore, current students pursuing this 15-credit hour certificate will need to take only 12 additional credit hours to complete both the degree and certificate.
