The Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Leadership, Advocacy, and Equity is an advanced professional degree designed to equip public health practitioners with the skills and knowledge necessary to become effective leaders and advocates for health equity. This program is intended for public health professionals with 3 or more years of public health experience committed to significantly impacting the health and well-being of communities by reducing health inequities, promoting justice, advocating for effective policies and programs, and leading transformative change.
The curriculum emphasizes the use of case studies and discussions, enabling students to tackle real-world challenges. Course learning materials are delivered online, asynchronously. Live sessions are offered to create a more engaging, interactive, and supportive educational experience.
Additionally, students engage in practical learning experiences and develop a professional portfolio that showcases their doctoral-level mastery of a wide range of competencies and specialized skills in leadership, advocacy, data interpretation, management, and policy and program design, implementation, and evaluation.
The Tulane DrPH follows a cohort model, with students taking the same courses at the same time throughout their degree program. Key features of the cohort design include collaborative learning, community building, peer motivation, enhanced engagement, and networking opportunities.
