Carol Shirley is a DrPH candidate at the Tulane University Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (expected completion Fall 2026). She joined the Board of Directors for the Society for Advancement of Violence and Injury Research in April of 2025 and also serves as co-chair of their Connection, Engagement, and Outreach committee.

Maren K. Levin, MS, has a background in genetics and cellular and molecular biology, with nearly 20 years of experience as a medical and scientific writer in breast cancer research. She has authored or co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed articles and abstracts that have been published in journals such as Cancer Research and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. She has been invited to present her work at the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting and the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting.

My key areas of interest and scholarship include leadership and advocacy, public health genomics/bioinformatics, health policy, and biosecurity all through the lens of equity, the One Health Initiative, and the reduction of health disparities. 

Tejal (she/her) is an applied researcher utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to address emerging issues in maternal and child health. As a former preschool teacher and current public health professional, Tejal seeks to create a collaborative sector of community-informed health and well-being research, practice, and policy. Her specific research interests include examining how parental mental health literacy impacts children's mental health outcomes.
