Shifting Power: student planning session

The IHSD department wants to engage SPHTM graduate students (MPH and PhD) in group conversations to help shape the Shifting Power: Confronting the Legacy of Colonialism in Global Health seminar series and ensure that student perspectives, concerns and suggestions are considered. In particular, we aim to use this information to help shape the fourth and final event in the series for the 2022-2023 academic year, which will be a day-long event in April (stay tuned for more information about that event).

Painless Parenting: An Interactive Training for Youth-Serving Professionals

Develop the confidence to efficiently communicate without judgement physical punishment’s harmful effects to parents and caretakers from diverse backgrounds.

Topics include:

- The historical roots and myths about corporal punishment

- How race and cultural values shape parental attitudes and beliefs about physical punishment

- The latest research on corporal punishment and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

- Talking points about healthy alternatives

- How to implement a No-Hit Zone in your office

 

Translational Science Grand Rounds: Insights into manuscript selection at The Lancet

Join us for a Translational Science Grand Rounds, "Insights into manuscript selection at The Lancet," presented by Stuart Spencer, PhD, Senior Executive Editor, The Lancet.

The Lancet is the most influential scientific journal in the world with a Journal Impact Factor of 202.7 in 2022.

Dr. Spencer joined The Lancet in 1999 and throughout his time there has led the Fast Track team that aims to select, review, and publish prestigious manuscripts within 4 weeks of receipt.  Although dealing with all areas of research, he primarily focuses on the cardiology submissions.

8th Annual La CaTS Step 1 Coordinator Training 2023

The Tulane Center for Clinical Research (TCCR) invites you to the 8th Annual LaCaTS Step 1 Coordinator Training.

This training is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 3rd, 2023 [8 am- 3 pm] and will be held in person this year! [Hybrid option available]. Additional information about the training will be provided under separate cover.

This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the basics of clinical research or refresh your knowledge in the area and connect with professionals across Louisiana.
