Tulane SPHTM gave me the foundation to pursue a commission with the U.S. Public Health Service as an officer.

My 2015 internship with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Junior Commissioned Officer Student Extern Program (JrCOSTEP) of the U.S. Public Health Service led to an occupational epidemiological fellowship at NIOSH. The Department’s multidisciplinary research environment encouraged unique internship opportunities – I discovered my strengths and improved where needed.
