Tulane University announces The Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine

First in public health. New in name. 

Tulane University announced this fall that it was naming its School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in honor of alumna Celia Scott Weatherhead in recognition of her landmark total lifetime giving of more than $160 million in support of the university. Weatherhead’s commitment – the largest in Tulane’s history – continues her legacy of providing funding to attract world-leading faculty researchers to Tulane and ensuring that top students from all backgrounds can attend the university. This gift will transform the university’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine to establish it as the premier school of its kind in the United States and one of the top such schools in the world. MHA reaccredited for another seven-year term

The Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) Board of Directors has approved the reaccreditation of the Master of Health Administration program at the Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University. The program resides in the school’s Department of Health Policy and Management. The reaccreditation will remain in effect for a full seven-year term. Read more >>

Health Policy & Management News

Every year, the Tulane MHA Program conducts several site visits with local hospitals, national consulting groups, academic medicine departments, and others to prepare students in their search for residency opportunities after their first year.

MPH students visited the state capitol in Baton Rouge earlier this year and met with local leaders, attended the special legislative session, and toured the capitol grounds to see local and state-level policy in action. Dr. Callison and Dr. Glover accompanied.
