Faculty Mentors
Foremost in the BIRCWH support system is the Scholars’ mentors. Mentors provide trainees with the fundamental training and the inter-professional, intellectual and technical research base necessary to produce high caliber Women’s Health researchers. The Lead Mentor has the main responsibility for guiding the Scholar toward research independence, while each mentor of the team is involved in helping the Scholar to develop both hypotheses and research protocols. The Lead Mentor and Scholar develop a written Career Development Plan and timeline that establishes a planned curriculum, the goals of the mentored research experience and milestones to help mark progress.
