The Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine offers motivated undergraduate students an accelerated pathway to a public health graduate education and an opportunity to turn passion into purpose. Through close collaboration with partner institutions, we provide opportunities for promising students to pursue rigorous graduate training.
Our accelerated master’s program allows qualified students to begin Tulane coursework in their senior year, getting an accelerated start to the master’s degree.
- Students split credits between schools, completing 12 credits of foundational coursework (completed online or on campus) toward the MPH that may also fulfill bachelor’s credits.
- Students continue at Tulane in the fall to complete the remaining coursework over the next year and a half.
- The Master of Public Health (MPH) requires a minimum of 45 credits for completion. This program enables passionate students to delve into public health coursework and graduate ready to create meaningful impact.

Students can choose among seven different departments and a wide array of academic concentrations to suit their career goals. Programs are available in residential and online modalities. Public health is a growing field with a wide variety of potential career paths. The field offers ample opportunity for an impactful career that makes a difference. Tulane alumni can be found at every professional level in local, state, national, and international positions at government agencies, non-profit organizations, and corporations. Many of our students also pursue further graduate or medical training.
