A 2017 MPH in maternal and child health graduate, Dhara moved half way around the world from Mandvi, India to attend Tulane SPHTM. Naturally she was nervous about the move, but as you will discover in her video Dhara found a second home at the SPHTM and in New Orleans!

Tulane SPHTM gave me the foundation to pursue a commission with the U.S. Public Health Service as an officer.

My 2015 internship with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Junior Commissioned Officer Student Extern Program (JrCOSTEP) of the U.S. Public Health Service led to an occupational epidemiological fellowship at NIOSH. The Department’s multidisciplinary research environment encouraged unique internship opportunities – I discovered my strengths and improved where needed.
