Aastra/Mitel Phone Instructions
To make a Local call
- Press the ON/Speaker button, located at the bottom right (green button)
- Dial 9 (to reach outside line) + local phone number, ex. 9 + 988-5405
- To hang up the call, hang up the handset or press the end call button, next to the "1" on the keypad (red button)
To make a Long Distance call
*You will no longer start with 3+ long distance code
- Press the ON/Speaker button, located at the bottom right (green button)
- Dial 9 (to reach outside line) + long distance phone number, ex. 9 + 1-800-888-8888
- You will be prompted to enter the "pass code" (long distance code)
- Enter your five-digit long distance code, if successful you will hear "Code Accepted"
- You will then be prompted to "enter the two-digit account code"
- Enter 01, if successful you will hear "Code Accepted"
- The call will connect
- To hang up the call, hang up the handset or press the end call button, next to the "1" on the keypad (red button)
To make a call to another Tulane extension
- Press the ON/Speaker button, located at the bottom right (green button)
- Dial "8" + four-digit extension, ex. 85405
- The call will connect
- To hang up the call, hang up the handset or press the end call button, next to the "1" on the keypad (red button)
To set up your Voice Mail passcode
*This is the first step in setting up your new voicemail
- Press the Voice Mail button on the phone (top button, Voice Mail is displayed on screen)
- You will be prompted to enter a passcode: temporary passcode is 885263
- Follow the prompts to set up your new passcode
- Passcode must be six-digits
To set up you Voice Mail greeting
- Press the Voice Mail button on the phone (top button, Voice Mail is displayed on screen)
- Enter your passcode followed by the "#" key
- Press "1" to access you voice mail box
- You can add a "busy" greeting here if you wish by pressing "2" and following the prompts
- To change your mailbox "No Answer" greeting, press "3"
- To record a new "No Answer" greeting, press "1"
- To listen to the greeting, press "2"
- Follow the prompts to set up your new voice mail "No Answer" greeting
To change your PASSCODE
- Press the Voice Mail button on the phone (top button, Voice Mail is displayed on screen)
- Enter passcode followed by "#"
- Press "8" to change your passcode
- Enter your new passcode then press "#"
To check your Voice Mail messages
- Press the Voice Mail button on the phone (top button, Voice Mail is displayed on screen)
- Enter passcode followed by "#"
- Press "1" to access your voice mail box
- Your messages will start playing
- To save a message, press "#"
- To delete a message, press "7"
- To repeat the message, press "2"
