Software & Software Packages
As a Tulane student, you have access to many statistical packages and other softwares for free, including SAS, SPSS, STATA, ArcGIS, Microsoft Access, and R.
To download SAS, SPSS, STATA, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Access directly onto your computer, visit Tulane eAcademy.
To use R on your computer, you must download and install R and RStudio.
- RStudio requires a 64-bit operating system. If you are on a 32 bit system, you can use an older version of RStudio.
OR you can gain access to all of these packages through AppsAnywhere, which gives Tulane students access to many different softwares as long as you have internet connection. AppsAnywhere is free for all students to download.
If you need help with downloading and installing packages, you can contact our IT department.
An introduction to SAS, SPSS, and R can be found here. However, our BIOS 6290 Data Mgmt & Statisti Computing 3-credit hour course gives a comprehensive introduction to SAS, STATA, and R and can count as an elective course for your degree program.
