Voting is...

Public health is often present in local, state, and national elections, whether through candidate choices or up/down votes on propositions and amendments. It’s important that we all contribute in the democratic process and strive to build a healthier world for all.

November 3rd is election day here in the United States, and we encourage all of you who are eligible to get out and make your voice heard in the election booth.

    Advocacy for Public Health

The American Public Health Association (APHA), in coordination with its members and state and regional affiliates, works with key decision makers to shape public policy to address today's ongoing public health concerns. Those include ensuring access to care, protecting funding for core public health programs and services and eliminating health disparities. To learn more about critical public health issues click here.

According to the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, colleges and universities are required by the Higher Education Act to assist students with the voter registration process. Toward that end, SPHTM has created this page as a handy guide to voting as a student.
