The Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine offers an enriching Public Health Discovery Program for passionate undergraduate students to explore the rewarding field of public health. This program provides meaningful opportunities for applicants to engage with active public health professionals to prepare for graduate study and the impactful careers that follow.
Public Health Discovery students have the opportunity to:
- participate in virtual and in-person seminars, panels, and webinars introducing them to important public health issues;
- learn from insightful public health faculty and practitioners about the career possibilities available with a master’s degree in public health;
- connect with a current Tulane public health graduate student who can offer advice and serve as a resource for helping navigate graduate school; and
- apply via a streamlined application process through Tulane (not SOPHAS).
Academic Options
Tulane offers the following master’s programs for Discovery Program students:

Students can choose among seven different departments and a wide array of academic concentrations to suit their career goals. Programs are available in residential and online modalities.
Degrees require 45 graduate credits, plus an applied practical experience and an integrated learning experience.
