MD/MPH Prospective Students

We're delighted you're interested in Tulane University's MD/MPH combined degree program.  Most students opt to complete the four-year MD/MPH program. Some students opt to complete the four-plus-year MD/MPH program. Tulane SOM students who are interested in exposure to public health but not in pursuing the full MPH curriculum may opt for the Public Health Certificate (PHC) program.

Learn more about the combined degree program options and the PHC program, including eligibility and application details.

Eligibility

The MD/MPH Program is available only to students who have earned a baccalaureate degree and have already been accepted to Tulane's School of Medicine (SOM). In addition, 4-year applicants must have earned a 28 or higher on the MCAT or a 504 or higher on the MCAT2015. Until you have earned a baccalaureate degree, you are not eligible to begin or graduate from the MD/MPH program. If you have not been accepted to Tulane's SOM, use this link for more information about applying to SOM.

If you have already earned a medical or osteopathic degree, or are pursuing your medical degree from a school other than Tulane, you are not eligible for the MD/MPH program; however, please visit the SPHTM Admissions page to learn more about pursuing an MPH.
