Artist Panel Discussion around “I Gotta Tell You Something About Me”

Tuesday April 29th 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Room: Tidewater Building
Description:

Join us for an inspiring panel discussion featuring youth and professional artists as they explore the powerful role creativity plays in personal well-being and community connection. Panelists will share how their artistic practice serves as an outlet for self-expression, a tool for navigating challenges, and a means of fostering dialogue on important social issues. Through storytelling, personal experiences, and audience interaction, this conversation will highlight the value of art in building resilience, strengthening communities, and amplifying voices that need to be heard. Whether you're an artist, an advocate, or simply curious about the intersection of art and well-being, this discussion will offer fresh perspectives and meaningful insights.

While this event is part of National Youth Violence Prevention Week, attendees will also be able to view a curated exhibit including artwork from three years of CYE’s Youth Art Contest + Exhibit. “I Gotta Tell You Something About Me” centers youth experiences in our society, how they define themselves, what gives them strength, and what they need to thrive.
