Biography
Dr. Joseph Hamrick is professor emeritus in the Department of Health Policy and Management. Formerly Acting Dean of SPHTM, Dr. Hamrick also served as Director of the City of New Orleans Department of Health and served as acting Assistant Secretary in the office of Public Health, State of Louisiana. He has directed numerous funded projects and published papers regarding various community health service areas. Dr. Hamrick has received many awards for his contributions to community health service including the Axson-Choppin Award of the Louisiana Public Health Association, and he is listed in American Men of Science.
