CLIMATE CHANGE AND HEALTH IN THE GULF SOUTH

Dean's Lecture Series

Climate change poses a significant danger to human health in both the short and long term. In the U.S., that threat is especially grave for the Gulf Coast. Over the next several years, the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine intends to take on the issue of climate change and the myriad health impacts anticipated.

In commemoration of Earth Day, we’re kicking off a lecture series on the topic. Our first speaker will be Dr. Marianthi-Anna Kioumourtzoglou, associate professor of environmental health sciences at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, to talk about how climate change and its effects are impacting the health of those in the Gulf South. Refreshments will be provided starting at 11:30 and discussion will begin at noon.
