Tulane SPHTM graduate Neil Meltzer named to Power 100
Neil Meltzer, a 1981 MHA graduate of the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (SPHTM), was recently named to The Daily Record’s Power 100 List for 2022-23. The Daily Record is a statewide business and legal newspaper published in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Power 100 List highlights people who “play an outsized role in the culture, lifestyle, civic conversation and economic fortunes of Maryland.”
Meltzer, the president and CEO of LifeBridge Health, checked in at No. 12 on the list. He is the highest ranking health professional on the list. He also serves as a member of the SPHTM Dean’s Advisory Council.
Asked about the most important lesson learned in his career, Meltzer answered, “One thing I’ve learned over my career is the power of collaboration over control. Running a health system is a ‘team sport’ and our most valuable players are our people and the passion, skills and values they bring to our organization.”
Meltzer has served in his current role with LifeBridge since 2013, where he has overseen a hospital acquisition, expansion of strategic partnerships, and moved the organization into an “integrated system.”
Among many honors, Meltzer has been recognized as an Influential Marylander and a Most Admired CEO by The Daily Record and named a Power 10 CEO by the Baltimore Business Journal. He is also a member of the Baltimore Sun’s Civic Hall of Fame.
