Biography
Elizabeth Heilmann is a doctoral student working under the guidance of Dr. Thom Eisele in the Center for Applied Malaria Research and Evaluation. She spent six years in Zambia conducting maternal and child health and malaria control activities as a Peace Corps Community Health Volunteer and supporting PEPFAR's HIV prevention and treatment and COVID-19 vaccination efforts as a CDC Fellow. Her current research interests focus on malaria control in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in areas with persistent malaria transmission despite high coverage of and adherence to recommended interventions. She has contributed to several studies on malaria, HIV, and SARS-CoV-2 and has presented her work at numerous international conferences. She received her MPH in Epidemiology from Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health and her BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame.
