We are thrilled to recognize the generous giving of Celia Scott Weatherhead, which has been recognized by Tulane University with the naming of our school. These guidelines will provide guidance in how the Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine should be referenced in varying situations.
Name
The official name of the school shall be henceforth: the Tulane University Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. In all official capacities, the full name of the school should be used.
In news articles and similar communications, the full name of the school (the Tulane University Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine) should always be used in the first instance of being referenced. Upon second mention, the Celia Scott Weatherhead School or the Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health should be used. Upon third and following mentions, the Weatherhead School or Weatherhead School of Public Health will be acceptable. In external communications, SPHTM will generally no longer be acceptable.
Logo
A new logo has been put in place by the university and should replace all existing logos for the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in print, digital, or physical format.
New department, unit, and (where applicable) center logos will be issued.
Departments
All departments should use the following format: Department of Epidemiology at Tulane University Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health or Department of Epidemiology at Tulane’s Weatherhead School of Public Health, following the same guidelines as above.
Centers
School-based centers should incorporate the school name, using the format: Center for XYZ at the Tulane University Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health or Center for XYZ at Tulane’s Weatherhead School of Public Health.
Other units and entities
Other units of the school should similarly incorporate the new school name, such as The Office of Student Experience at the Tulane University Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health.
