Multiple public health students named Leaders in Service
The Center for Public Service announced its list of the 2023 Top 30 Leaders in Service award winners, with eight students affiliated with the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine represented.
Chandler Brock, Katherine Sonderegger, Wash Fields, Raymell Green, Bridget Lindgren, Amanda Toole, Michael Yang, and Addison Dunn were among the honorees.
The majority of the group are undergraduates in the program, though Fields is a BSPH alum, now a master’s student in Social, Behavioral, and Population Sciences. Yang and Dunn are public health minors.
The award recognizes students who have committed their Tulane University career to improving the community around them. Whether through service-learning courses, internships, student leadership, or volunteerism, the students recognized have shown dedication in their commitment to the New Orleans community and beyond.
The full list of students represents organizations including service-learning assistants, community engagement advocates, Outreach Tulane executive board, CACTUS, public service interns, founders of student service organizations and initiatives, Tulane EMS, Students Organizing Against Racism, Community Service Fellows, Weatherhead Scholars, diversity fellows, Alpha Phi Omega, and Greek organization volunteer and philanthropy chairs, among many others.
