About the DrPH in Leadership for International Health and Sustainable Development
The DrPH in Leadership for International Health and Sustainable Development prepares mid-career professionals for leadership roles in public health practice in low- and middle-income countries. The program builds advanced skills in health metrics, program management, and evidence-based policy decision-making so graduates can address global health challenges from leadership positions in international organizations, government agencies, and NGOs.
The curriculum is delivered fully online and part-time, combining case studies, interactive discussions, and real-world application. Course materials are asynchronous, with live sessions built in for engagement and support. The program uses a cohort model with a Fall start, and is designed for professionals who continue working full-time while they study.
Students who complete this degree will:
- Build implementation plans centered on individuals, communities, and populations in LMICs
- Recommend program adjustments based on monitoring and evaluation findings
- Synthesize data and evidence for decision-making
- Recommend communication approaches for decision-making
- Design strategies for using timely data in program design and implementation
- Combine human-centered design, embedded research, and adaptive management for more effective interventions
- Apply systems thinking to explain outcomes in complex health systems
- Design health policy using systems thinking and policy analysis

Format: Fully online, part-time, cohort-based (Fall start)
Credits Required: 57 credit hours
Students with a CEPH-accredited MPH will receive 15 hours of transfer credit, reducing the degree to 42 credit hours.
