Biography
Denise Wanyana (she/her) is a PhD student at the Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine at Tulane University, in the International Health and Sustainable Development Department. She is interested in equity-based research to address health challenges that affect low-resource settings across Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as models of effective healthcare delivery with a focus on high quality care and health outcomes.
Denise holds a Master of Science in Global Health Delivery from the University of Global Health Equity and a Bachelor’s in Medicine, Health and Society with a concentration in Global Health from Vanderbilt University. Prior to joining Tulane, Denise worked at the Rwanda Ministry of Health as Advisor to the Minister of State, where she supported national efforts to strengthen the health sector from the primary healthcare level to advance the global health and equity agenda.
