Biography

Citra Kusuma is a Ph.D. student in the Department of International Health and Sustainable Development at Tulane University. With a background in public health nutrition, she has extensive experience working across academic, government, and international development sectors in both urban and rural settings. Prior to joining Tulane, Citra was a Lecturer in the Master’s Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia. She has also led and contributed to projects on adolescent wellbeing, COVID-19 response, Posyandu participation, and malaria elimination in collaboration with partners such as UNFPA, UNICEF, Nutrition International, and the Indonesian Ministry of Health.

Her research focuses on the intersection of social determinants, health behaviors, and programmatic interventions in low- and middle-income countries, with current doctoral work examining the relationship between household water insecurity and undernutrition in children under five.
