Biography
Dr. Stranova received his Doctor of Science (ScD), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Master of Health Administration (MHA) degrees from Tulane University and his undergraduate degree from Tufts University, where he majored in history while also earning a certificate in community health. Prior to joining the Tulane faculty, Dr. Stranova held leadership positions with New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System and Tulane University Hospital & Clinic. Dr. Stranova also has experience in healthcare policy, having spent several years as a policy analyst for the Paralyzed Veterans of America, a nonprofit advocacy group in Washington, DC. His research focuses on the organizational relationships, structures, and leadership of healthcare organizations, particularly academic teaching hospitals and their affiliated medical schools. More generally, Dr. Stranova's interests lie in applying organizational theory and strategic management principles to strengthen both domestic and international healthcare systems, improve the quality of healthcare provision, and assist organizations in identifying strategies that help reduce health disparities in the communities they serve.
