Biography
Samantha O'Connell is a doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology at the Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health. Her research interests include cardiovascular disease epidemiology, epidemiology of aging and brain health, and implementation science. Her doctoral research focuses on 1) assessing the global burden of hypertension using advanced machine learning techniques, 2) using implementation mapping to identify factors that influence the adoption of intensive BP interventions in hypertension trials, and 3) the application of blood-based biomarker testing for dementia detection in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
