Raised in the System
Produced by actor Michael K. Williams (The Wire), “Raised in the System” is an HBO VICE documentary chronicling issues of mass incarceration through an adolescent lens. Hearing from those directly affected, Williams explores pathways into the United States juvenile system and how childhood experiences and crime policies have contributed to adult incarceration. Finally, the film highlights programs working to reform the juvenile justice system in innovative ways, encouraging viewers that transforming mass incarceration begins with our youth.
