Biography

Sudesh Srivastav has a broad background and experience in biostatistics and quantitative bioinformatics with specific training and expertise in statistical design of experiments and its application in clinical trials, re-sampling methods, and analysis of big data. He is actively involved in collaborative research with a number of faculty members from within the department as well as from other departments of the Health Sciences Center at Tulane University, particularly the Tulane Cancer Center and the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium (LCRC). For the academic year 2011-12, he was Fulbright Senior Scholar for India for his research proposal titled “Statistical Efficient Designs of Micro-array Experiments”. In 2005 he received the Excellence in Intercampus Collaborative Research award from the Tulane University Health Sciences Center. Before joining Tulane University, Srivastav was at the University of California, San Francisco where he was extensively involved in statistical analysis and problems integrating clinical findings, laboratory results, quantitative imaging data, and management of large cohort epidemiological studies on osteoporosis in a setting of multi-center clinical trials (ranges from Phase I to Phase III). Srivastav was also visiting scholar in the Department of Statistics, Stanford University, Palo Alto, California, USA and Honorary fellow, in the Center for the Mathematical Sciences, University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has published extensively in both theoretical and applied statistical journals as well as in public health and medical journals.
