Xiang Li is trained in nutritional epidemiology. Her research interests include gene-environment (lifestyle, nutrition) interactions in relation to obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. She received the American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship, which aims to use a novel method to detect variance-controlling genetic variants and assess their interactions with diet interventions on changes in adiposity and body composition. 

Aneeka is a PhD student at Tulane University, studying infectious disease epidemiology.  Prior to moving to New Orleans, she completed her Master of Science in Public Health degree at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. While at Hopkins, Aneeka worked on various projects related to HIV risks and outcomes, among different populations. More broadly, Aneeka has worked in public health domestically and internationally, and taken on projects in several different areas, ranging from infectious diseases to nutrition.

Kaitlin's research interests are in lifestyle epidemiology, especially nutrition and sleep, and the social determinants of cardiometabolic risk factors throughout the lifecourse. Her current dissertation research aims to examine the long-term relationships between diet and sleep and how these relationships contribute to health disparities. She has received an Individual NIH Pre-doctoral Fellowsip, the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (F31), to support her dissertation research and training. She studies under the mentorship of Dr. Lydia Bazzano. 

Austin Jones is a sixth-year MD-PhD candidate studying epidemiology. After completing his undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley in 2013, Austin lived in rural Panama conducting community health education with the indigenous Ngäbe-Buglé and the non-governmental organization, Floating Doctors. He subsequently attended Tulane University where he completed a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
