Concern for our international students

Dear students,

I would like to reinforce the message President Fitts shared with the Tulane community on Friday related to developments in federal immigration law. We are, of course, very concerned for any of our students or scholars who may be impacted by immigrant travel restrictions.

Our motto at SPHTM is “a global commitment to public health,” and that concept remains as true as it ever has been. We believe that global connections enhance academics both by having international students here at Tulane and having our students experience public health in settings around the world.

If you have concerns about current restrictions impacting your studies, please discuss the situation with your advisor and with SPHTM Student Affairs. The Office of International Students and Scholars is also an excellent resource for up-to-date information about this unfolding situation. I also urge faculty to refer students who are anxious about their status to these resources.

Our collective thoughts remain with our international community at this time.

Best regards,
