Why did you choose to attend Tulane SPHTM?

I chose to attend Tulane University's School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (SPHTM) for my program because of its exceptional reputation, comprehensive curriculum, and unique opportunities for interdisciplinary learning and research. By sharing my own experiences and insights, I can inspire and guide others who are interested in pursuing a career in public health. Additionally, being an ambassador allows me to actively contribute to fostering a supportive and inclusive community within the school, while also enhancing my leadership, communication, and networking skills.

What's your dream job?

My dream job is to work as a data scientist in the field of public health. I am captivated by the immense potential of data-driven approaches to tackle complex health challenges and inform evidence-based decision-making. Through advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling, I aspire to extract valuable insights from vast datasets to improve health outcomes, identify patterns and trends, and contribute to the development of innovative interventions and policies. By harnessing the power of data, I aim to drive impactful change, enhance public health surveillance, and ultimately contribute to creating healthier communities and a more equitable healthcare system.

What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?

Advice for someone thinking about getting a degree in public health would be to thoroughly research and understand the various specializations within the field to identify their areas of interest. It's important to have a clear career goal and align the degree program accordingly. Additionally, gaining practical experience through internships or volunteering can provide valuable insights and help in building a strong network.
