Room: Tulane University Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine - First Floor Diboll Gallery
Description:

Join us on Thursday, March 27 from 5 - 7pm in the Diboll Gallery on the Tulane University Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine campus (1440 Canal St) for the opening reception of the art exhibit "I Gotta Tell You Something About Me" , a group exhibition of portraits by local artists of the Center for Youth Equity.

The Center of Youth Equity is a culturally responsive youth violence prevention research center embedded within the Violence Prevention Institute at the Tulane University Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

"I Gotta Tell You Something About Me" is an exhibition of submissions from three previous Youth Art Contests taking place from 2022 - 2024. These shows center youth experiences in our society, how they define themselves, what gives them strength, and what they need to thrive. Their perspectives on fairness, safety, and community can inspire action toward a future free from violence and full of access and opportunity.

This show is curated by Diane Appaix-Castro

This series of art exhibitions throughout 2025 in the Diboll Gallery is part of the arts & public health programming at the Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. This series is presented with generous support from the Diboll Foundation.

This event is free and open to the public. Food and Beverages will be served.
