Admitted Student Day event information

"Admitted Student Visit Day is a great opportunity to meet current students and hear firsthand about their experiences, especially things you can’t find on the website. You'll get to meet several faculty members in your department and explore New Orleans, which really helps to picture yourself here. Some of the admitted students I met on my visit are now close friends! If you're on the fence, I highly recommend joining us!"

Travel Support to attend the Visit Day

We understand that the cost of travel is becoming less and less affordable, so this year we are offering a limited number of travel stipends (up to $250, amounts may vary) to help students offset some costs of attending admitted student visit day.

All students are invited and encouraged to attend visit day, and all students are eligible to apply for this stipend, however, first consideration for travel stipends will be given to students admitted to on campus programs who are located at least 200 miles from New Orleans, as this event is intended to help students get a feel for the campus environment and New Orleans in order to be able to visualize themselves here.

The deadline to submit the form to be considered for travel support is March 1

We will be reviewing these submissions on a rolling basis, and responding as quickly as possible in order to prevent delays on making travel arrangements. RSVP within portal

Students who are approved for this funding will be prompted to submit travel receipts after the event, and will receive the funds as a reimbursement. We are unable to reimburse tickets or hotels purchased with airline or credit card/hotel points. Students must attend the event to receive reimbursement.

Frequently Asked Questions

What to expect from Admitted Student Visit Day? You have questions, we have answers.

Great question! Hear directly from one of our current students who attended last year, Chloe Garrett: "Admitted Student Visit Day is a great opportunity to meet current students and hear firsthand about their experiences, especially things you can’t find on the website. You'll get to meet several faculty members in your department and explore New Orleans, which really helps to picture yourself here. Some of the admitted students I met on my visit are now close friends! If you're on the fence, I highly recommend joining us!

Every admitted student (both online and on campus) for summer and fall 2026 is invited and encouraged to attend the Admitted Student Visit Day and experience our vibrant community.

Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email almost immediately. We’ll also be reaching out to admitted students who have RSVP’d the week of the event to confirm you still plan to attend and to share your $75 Lyft code to help you get around town.

Should you encounter any issues with your registration, email us at sphtmadmissions@tulane.edu.

Crawfish Photo by Logan Ellzey on Unsplash

We HIGHLY recommend that you arrive by Thursday afternoon so you can join us at the annual WSPH Crawfish Boil on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm at Wave City Market. This is a schoolwide event brings faculty, staff, and current students together to celebrate crawfish season (IYKYK).

Dress code for this event is casual – please wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing! Our admissions team will be wearing Tulane t-shirts, so there’s no need to dress to impress us! We suggest bringing:

  • A jacket or sweater as some areas may be cooler than others.
  • An umbrella in case of rain.
  • Comfortable shoes to explore the city

We have contracted discounted rates with several different hotels through our Tulane hotel portal.

The Jung Hotel is closest to the downtown campus.

Our campus is also just a short walk from the French Quarter (right across Canal St), where there are many other hotel options. Tulane University maintains special rates with some of these hotels.

Look at the complete list to find a great hotel to stay at while you are here.

There are multiple surface parking lots available on Canal St (right next door) that allow parking by the hour. The Saratoga Garage (111 S Saratoga St) also has covered paid parking close by (overnight parking allowed).

While most of the programming of this day is restricted to admitted students only, due to limited space in our facility, your guest (or guests!) are welcome to join us at the Delta Omega poster session and reception from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.

Admitted students can apply for a travel stipend (up to $250) to help cover costs of traveling to attend the visit day. All students attending the visit day will receive a $75 Lyft voucher the week of the event. Please refer to Travel Support for more details.

We are sorry that you are unable to join for Visit Day. We'll be happy to welcome you at another time. Please fill out this form to an individual campus visit on another date. We look forward to meeting you!

If you had previously register to attend, but need to cancel, please email us at sphtmadmissions@tulane.edu, or text us at 504-285-4674.

No worries! Just let us know. You can either respond to the confirmation text, or let us know ahead of time and we’ll cancel your registration (text us at 504-285-4674). If you want to visit another time, you can always fill out this form to book an individual campus visit on another date.

" I love being downtown and getting to explore
all the small businesses and restaurants.
Plus, there is so much culture and history to learn here.
