Why did you choose to attend Tulane?
I chose to attend Tulane University's Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine because of its outstanding reputation and strong academic rigor. I was drawn to the unparalleled opportunities for learning and professional development that Tulane offers. I particularly value the school's emphasis on experiential learning and the extensive resources that allow students to gain real-world public health experience before graduation. In addition to these academic advantages, I was impressed by the strong outcomes and career placements achieved by Tulane alumni. Beyond the classroom, the city of New Orleans offers a vibrant and culturally rich environment, and the people here make the experience even more rewarding.
What's your dream job?
While I'm not 100% sure what exactly I want to do in my career, I have a strong interest in infectious disease and vaccination policy. This can translate to research, infection mitigation, public policy, and much more. I find myself happiest in roles of service and leadership and hope to use my strengths and interests to find the perfect fit for me while I'm here!
What advice would you give someone thinking about getting a degree in public health?
Go for it!!! The opportunities are endless in public health. With an MPH (or MS, MHA, PhD) there are so many ways to apply this degree to make the change you want to see in public health. You can make what you want out of a degree in public health, and Tulane is the best place to do it.
Any hobbies, interests, etc. outside of public health?
In my free time I love to read, watch movies, or simply relax with friends. Since moving to New Orleans, there have been so many opportunities to try new things, and I've made a point to say yes to every new experience! I'm a firm believer that it's impossible to be bored if you're looking for fun.
What is the best thing about being a student at Tulane thus far?
The best thing about being a student here so far is the amazing faculty! Every professor I've had the pleasure of speaking to has done incredible things, and is incredibly caring as well. The advice and guidance given by the faculty is invaluable.
