Eva Silvestre, PhD

Associate Dean, Institutional Excellence & Opportunity

Eva Silvestre serves as the Associate Dean for Institutional Excellence and Opportunity and Data Strategist for the Tulane University Office of Academic Excellence and Opportunity. She is originally from Guatemala and immigrated to the United States as a child with her family during the country’s civil war seeking political asylum. She grew up in a rural community of immigrants in south Florida and earned a B.S. from Cornell University, an M.A. from the University of Colorado-Boulder, and a PhD from Tulane. Her research areas focus on monitoring and evaluation of health programs and improving health information systems for evidence-based decision-making, and until recently she worked on USAID-funded projects. She also teaches courses in social and behavioral aspects of health, Latino health in the United States, and health and sustainable development in a changing world.

Alisha Lanae’ Williams, MPA

Assistant Director, Institutional Excellence & Opportunity

Alisha Lanae’ Williams, MPA, is a native New Orleanian who has been employed at Tulane University for five years. She first served as a Jobs Accommodations Specialist, supporting faculty and staff with disabilities in securing workplace accommodations. For the past year, she has been part of the Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health, where she continues to work with faculty and staff while also engaging directly with students. Her background in supporting various populations has strengthened her ability to foster an inclusive, welcoming, and accessible environment. Grounded in her love for New Orleans and dedication to public health, Alisha strives to create spaces that empower all individuals to reach their fullest potential. She looks forward to the year ahead, collaborating with her amazing colleagues and supporting the success of students at WSPH.
