SBSP: Areas of Specialization

WSPH hosted several Black Maternal Health Week events this week.

The job market is competitive across disciplines, and this is particularly true in the field of public health. Graduates need to have a solid base of knowledge while also demonstrating depth in one or more areas. Tulane graduates gain both thanks to the cross-cutting foundational curriculum as well as the subject matter competency gained by the degree program.

These are secondary areas of specialization that students can focus on alongside their degree program. Courses in the Areas of Specialization fulfill elective requirements, so no additional credit hours are needed, making areas of specialization a cost-effective way for students to stand out in their careers.

To full the requirements for each specialization, students must take four courses for a total of 12 credits.
