Financial Aid and Opportunities for Peace Corps Program Students

Being a part of the Tulane Peace Corps Program has many benefits, including financial rewards, career benefits, and much more.

Tulane

  • LPCA: Free one-year membership to Louisiana Peace Corps Association (LPCA) after completion of Peace Corps service.
  • Rosetta Stone: Language learning software for Spanish and French is available to all Peace Corps Program students. Details coming soon about reserving your spot in the new language lab.

Peace Corps Service

  • Student Loans: some are eligible for deferment and some for partial cancellation
  • Transition Funds: receive $7,425 (pre-tax after you complete your 27 months of service)
  • Free Travel: expenses for travel to and from your country of service are paid for by the Peace Corps
  • Living Allowance: a monthly stipend to cover living and housing expenses
  • Vacation:  earn two vacation days per month of service
  • Medical and Dental: receive complete medical and dental care while serving
  • Health Insurance: an affordable plan is available for up to 18 months following service
  • No Fee: unlike other international volunteer programs, there is no fee to participate in the Peace Corps
