We have limited capacity and resources, and as the school’s communications and marketing team, we will prioritize projects that benefit the school's student-centered mission. We may not be able to accept requests that do not meet certain guidelines, including but not limited to, scope of work, timeline or content provided. We will touch base with you as soon as possible to let you know if we are able to take on your request.
Design & Mass Comms
DIGITAL DESIGN WORK - Our team can produce digital designs for products such as event flyers, simple use signage, digital ads, designs for Mardi Gras beads, swag and related items, and social media content. Requests must include finalized and approved copy and any photographs that should be incorporated into the design. Please reach out via email to discuss the project before submitting if you have questions.
EMAILS - Our team requires a minimum of three business days for email requests. Requests must include finalized and approved copy and images.
LOGOS - Logos incorporating Tulane branding require at least one to two weeks. This timeline includes presenting the lockup for review, obtaining sign-off and exporting all file types.
PHOTOGRAPHY - Our team should be notified at least two weeks ahead of the photography event. Depending on current volume of work and availability, we may refer you to an external photographer.
PRINT PROJECTS - When requesting print projects from our team with finalized copy and approved imagery, the following timelines apply:
- Small-scale projects (e.g., a five-page brochure or event program): one to two weeks
- Large-scale projects (e.g., reports exceeding 20 pages): three to six weeks, depending on scope
- Other projects: one to three weeks based on complexity and size
SOCIAL MEDIA PROMOTION - Our team should be notified in advance at least five working days if a campus partner requests social media promotion.
VIDEO - Our team should be notified at least four to six weeks ahead of the video release date.
- Going to have Derek & David work on scope & storyboarding comments.
WEBSITE REQUESTS - Completion times vary by scope of project:
- Basic edits to 1-3 pages: 2-3 business days
- Edits across 4 or more pages: a minimum of one week
- New site: a minimum of two weeks, depending on number of pages, and a meeting with communications to understand the purpose of and audience for the site.
Notes:
- We generally do not build web pages for events, as those are required to live on WaveSync.Exceptions include ongoing events such as the Dean's Leadership & Lagniappe Speakers series; Public Health Discovery Seminars; etc.
- It is important to note that, in general, most projects do not require a completely new site, and this is why we ask that you scheduling a meeting with Dee Boling and Tara Brown to discuss the project.
News & Public Relations
This needs to be customized to the school - Dee & David, please make suggestions.
MEDIA OUTREACH - Our team should be notified at least two weeks before the deadline if a campus partner requests media outreach.
WSPH NEWS - notes here
TULANE TODAY CONTENT (Already Written) - If our team is provided content that is already written, reviewed and approved, then we can be notified five working days before the deadline.
TULANE TODAY STORY (Written by Our Team) - Our team requires three to four weeks’ notice if a campus partner requests that a story be published in Tulane Today and needs to be written by a team member.
TULANIAN - Storytelling requests are accepted on a rolling basis, but ideas are encouraged to be submitted one season ahead of the intended magazine issue’s publication date. Ideation for each issue takes place three to four months ahead of publishing.
