With the leadership of Dean LaVeist and a committee of school representatives, the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine is embarking on a strategic vision and planning process.
The planning phase begins January 2019 and will produce a set of strategic goals, objectives to achieve those goals, and an implementation plan that involves the entire TSPHTM community.
The planning phase involves gathering information about the school from internal and external sources and building a strong, shared understanding of internal strengths, external opportunities, and areas of growth potential. This baseline, set against the Dean's strategic vision, will allow us to see the "gaps" between where we are now and where we want to be. Identifying gaps and deciding how to close them constitutes what's known as a strategic plan.
This web page explains not only the steps of the process but also how information is gathered and used; what the different roles and responsibilities are, and what it means to be involved in this process.
